QR Code Check-In for Events: The Ultimate Guide
July 30, 2026Busky
QR code check-in is revolutionizing event management. Here's how to set it up for free with Busky.
Why QR Code Check-In Matters
Traditional event check-in relies on printed lists, manual name searches, and paper tickets. It's slow, error-prone, and creates long queues. QR code check-in solves all of this: guests show a unique QR code on their phone, the organizer scans it, and check-in happens instantly. No apps to install, no hardware to buy — just a smartphone camera.
How Busky's QR Check-In Works
Busky.ai combines AI form building with smart event check-in in one seamless flow:
- Guest submits registration form — Built by AI or drag-and-drop
- Auto-approve (optional) — Set a limit, submissions auto-confirm
- QR code generated — Each approved guest gets a unique QR code on their status page
- Owner scans QR — Use any phone camera to open the check-in page
- One-tap check-in — Owner taps 'Check-in Guest' and it's done
- Real-time tracking — Status updates live: Pending → Approved → Checked In
Benefits of QR Check-In
- Zero queue time — Guests pre-register, scan, and enter in seconds
- No special hardware — Works with any smartphone camera
- Fraud prevention — Each QR code is unique and single-use tracked
- Real-time dashboard — See exactly how many guests have arrived
- Owner-only scanning — Only the event organizer can check guests in
- Completely free — No per-guest fees, no subscription required
